The 'Ballantyne' novels include A Falcon Flies, Men of Men, The Angels Weep and The Leopard Hunts in Darkness. The first three Ballantyne books focus on the drive for colonial wealth and the bitter struggle between black and white in Rhodesia's brief history. The fourth and last of the sequence shows the re-emergence of ancient tribal rivalries, African pitted against African.

The 'Courtney' novels trace the fortunes, and misfortunes, of this sprawling, ambitious family, from the dawn of the eighteenth century to the late twentieth century, starting with When The Lion Feeds. The Triumph of the Sun brings the Courtneys and the Ballantynes together, in Egypt, and Assegai continues the Courtney saga in East Africa just prior to the outbreak of World War I. . .

The 'Egyptian' novels are The Quest, and River God, The Seventh Scroll and Warlock. Set in the land of the ancient Pharaohs, this quartet vividly describes ancient Egypt and has a cast of unforgettable characters. Also see the 'family trees' and information about the major characters, as well as a map of Egypt relating to the Warlock era.

This series of books by Wilbur Smith include Those in Peril, Vicious Circle and Predator and feature Hector Cross, a British security officer and ex member of the SAS.

The standalone' books are so called purely as they do not form part of the 'Courtney', 'Ballantyne' or 'Egyptian' series! They cover a wide range of subjects, from lost civilisations to supersonic aerial combat. Several have been made into films or TV series.
