Lothar is a Boer outlaw and nephew of a legendary Boer general. He meets Centaine and the two have a passionate love affair. When the affair ends, Lothar uses Centaine to negotiate his immunity, and when she gives birth to their son he takes responsibility for the child, raising Manfred himself. He and Centaine enter into a business conflict that results in an attempt to rob a diamond convey belonging to Centaine. His plot fails, and he is caught and imprisoned.
